No sun tan or spray tan 1 month before and 1 month after procedure.
Do not perform any invasive procedure in the area to be camouflaged for at least 30 days.
If possible, moisturize your skin frequently in the days leading up to your procedure, this will help with the final result of your camouflage.
After Your Procedure
during Healing — You CAN:
You can shower the same day.
First 1-3 days, just rinse with water only (no soaps).
Day 3 onward, use Dial Antibacterial Soap, gently. No rubbing, just gently pat.
Dry the area using a CLEAN PAPER TOWEL ONLY (not your regular bath towel) by gently patting, not rubbing.
Day 1-3: You can use Aquafor on the procedure area if it feels or looks dry. If it doesn’t feel/look dry, don’t use it. It usually starts to feel/look dry around day 2-3.
When you start using Aquafor, apply a very thin layer with clean hands or a clean cosmetic spatula. MAKE SURE YOU DON’T ACCIDENTALLY FORCE PICK THE SCABS WHILE APPLYING THE AQUAFOR. Blot off any excess with clean paper towel.
Wear loose/lightweight and solid material clothes (BUT NOT SHEER) over the area. UV Rays can still go though if the material is sheer and not thick enough to block.
DURING Healing — You CANNOT:
Be in direct sun on treatment area for at least 30 days.
DO NOT FORCE PICK YOUR SCABS.
Let is naturally fall off. Any premature force picking can cause blotchiness or even lead to forming addititonal scars. It can also expose your skin to contaminants and increase risk for infection.
No swimming in pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, or expose your camouflage to any area that may be contaminated for at least 7 days.
No gym or saunas for at least 7 days.
Use any other topical cream, oils, or solutions that are not listed here over your camouflage without authorization.
1-3 Days:
Keep the procedure clean at all times. Use antiseptic spray (or hydrogen peroxide) 1-2 times a day to keep the area clean and to avoid infections.
If needed, use an icepack the first 3 days to help reduce inflammation.
You can use Aquafor on it if procedure area feels dry. If it doesn’t feel dry, don’t use it. It usually starts to feel dry around day 2-3.
3-30 Days:
After 3 days, stop using the ice pack and continue/start the hydration process with one of these moisturizers: Aquafor is preferred, Bepanthol and Cicaplast is ok too. Do this for 30 days. Do not use other kind of moisturizers without consulting with us first.
Important Reminders:
Following these instructions during the healing process is extremely important to ensure the best results of your camouflage treatment.
NO SUN FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS AFTER PROCEDURE.
During this time, the skin is injured and still healing. ANY SUN EXPOSURE, directly or even indirectly (by wearing sheer clothing), WILL cause HYPERPIGMENTATION of the exposed healing area. The darkness caused by it will last FOR MONTHS TO MANY YEARS, or it can even be PERMANENT.
UV rays even with a sheer clothes, may lead to a PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) that may cause moderate or extreme darken of the skin area for months to several years.
DO NOT FORCE PICK YOUR SCABS.
If your procedure generates any type of scab, do not remove the skin. It needs to recover on its own time. The early removal of the scab shell can generate a scar on the skin or unwanted darkening. PEELING OFF the scabs WILL AFFECT THE FINAL RESULT and may expose you to new contaminations.
Avoid saunas, swimming pools, gyms or places with easy exposure to contamination for at least 7 days, until the skin is closed.
After healed you should NEVER do any laser treatment over the camouflage to avoid changes in color, or partial remotion of it. Contact us prior any procedure that involves laser or if you have any questions.
ATTENTION: After the camouflage, avoid any laser procedure or high-intensity light in the same spot where the camouflage tattoo was done.
What to Expect During HealinG
It is normal for the skin to darken in the first days of the procedure, as a process was generated inflammation in the skin, the darkening may last from 10 - 30 days, and may extend to a few specific cases such as brown and black skin (due to the large amount of melanin present on the skin, or in cases where the client uses products not recommended by the professional).
Week 1:
Your skin will be reacting to the procedure. It may be swollen or have a little bit of redness - this is completely normal. You can use an icepack the first 3 days, if needed.
Weeks 1–3:
During the first 2 to 3 weeks, you may notice the area gets slightly darker. That's normal and part of the process as your body heals from the injury caused by the procedure. It will, in most cases, start to lighten up and show the session results gradually after the 3rd to the 4th week.
Weeks 3–6:
During this time, the area(s) being treated start to lighten up and show their true result. Each individual is unique in their healing process and fixation. It is normal to notice a small to a huge difference after only one session, depending on each person's reaction.
Weeks 6–12:
It takes about 8-12 weeks for your body to fully recover from the process. Previous injured tissue requires a longer healing process than a normal tissue. Your body should ready for your next session. You will follow the same pre and post care instructions for all sessions.
