PRE AND POST CARE

it is very important to Follow the pre and post care instructions to achieve optimal results. reminder that medical tattooing usually requires multiple sessions to achieve desired results. patience is key.

Before Your Procedure

  • We cannot perform the procedure on tanned skin (skin with solar burns or any wound).

  • We recommend that you wait at least 30 days after your last tanning for doing the procedure.

  • Performing the procedure in pregnant and lactating women is not recommended.

  • Do not perform any invasive aesthetic procedure in the area to be camouflaged for at least 30 days.

  • If possible, moisturize your skin frequently in the days leading up to your procedure, this will help with the final result of your camouflage.

After Your Procedure

1-3 Days:

  • Keep the area of the procedure clean at all times. Use hydrogen peroxide or an antiseptic spray of your choice at least 2 times a day to keep the area clean and avoid infections. You can also use cold pads or ice to help reduce inflammation.

  • Cold compress may help in the inflammatory process, reducing the time of darker skin, use for at least the first 3 days.

3-30 Days:

  • Helping your body to heal is very important. After the first 3 days, you must start using the indicated topical cream (Aquaphor or Cicaplast) 2 times a day. The cream will help your healing process by moisturizing the area.

  • After 3 days, stop using ice and start the hydration process (30 days of hydration) with one of these moisturizers: Bepanthol, Aquaphor, Cicaplast. Do not use other kind of moisturizers without consulting with us first.

DURING Healing — You CANNOT:

  • Be in direct sun on treatment area for at least 30 days.

  • Swim in pools, lakes, rivers, oceans, or expose your camouflage to any area that may be contaminated (at least 7 days).

  • Go to the gym or saunas (at least 5 days).

  • Use any other topical cream, oils, or solutions that are not listed here over your camouflage without authorization.

  • Peel off any scab that may form during the healing process.

during Healing — You CAN:

  • Shower and clean the area with water and Dial Antibacterial Soap, gently.

  • Dry the area using a CLEAN PAPER TOWEL ONLY by tapping, not rubbing.

  • Use loose and light clothes over the area.

  • In case of using too light fiber clothes, the UV rays may affect your healing process. Use sunscreen over the area after the first 5 days, only if using those clothes.

Important Reminders:

  • Following these instructions during the healing process is extremely important to ensure the best results of your camouflage treatment.

  • Taking ANY SUN EXPOSURE, directly or even indirectly (by using light material clothes), WILL cause HYPERPIGMENTATION of the exposed healing area. The darkness caused by it will last FOR MONTHS TO MANY YEARS, or it can even be PERMANENT.

  • DO NOT FORCE PICK YOUR SCABS. If your procedure generates any type of scab, do not remove the skin. It needs to recover on its own, time for it to recover, the early removal of this shell it can generate a scar on the skin or even an unwanted darkening. PEELING OFF the scabs WILL AFFECT THE FINAL RESULT and may expose you to new contaminations.

  • During the healing process AVOID SUN at all costs. Taking your camouflage in contact with UV rays even with a light cloth over it may lead to a PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation) that may cause moderate or extreme darken of the skin area for months to several years.

  • It is extremely forbidden to expose the skin to the sun for at least 30 days, during this phase the skin will be slightly injured, so if the client exposes the skin to the sun it most likely will generate a hyperpigmentation in the skin, the tattooed area will remain dark indefinitely.

  • Avoid saunas, swimming pools, gyms or places with easy exposure to contamination for at least 7 days, until the skin is closed.

  • After healed you should never do any laser treatment over the camouflage to avoid changes in color, or partial remotion of it. Contact us prior any procedure that involves laser or if you have any questions.

  • ATTENTION: After the camouflage, avoid any laser procedure or high-intensity light in the same spot where the camouflage tattoo was done.

What to Expect During HealinG

It is normal for the skin to darken in the first days of the procedure, as a process was generated inflammation in the skin, the darkening may last from 10 - 30 days, and may extend to a few specific cases such as brown and black skin (due to the large amount of melanin present on the skin, or in cases where the client uses products not recommended by the professional).

Week 1:

In the first week, your skin will be reacting to the procedure. It may look a little bumpy or red, which is expected. Take good care and follow the post-care instructions exactly as it is.

It will, in most cases, start to lighten up and show the session results gradually after the 3rd to the 4th week.

Weeks 3–6:

From 3 to 6 weeks is the time most of the cases start to lighten up and show their true result. Each individual is unique in their healing process and fixation. It is normal to notice a small to a huge difference after only one session, depending on each person's reaction. Some cases require more time to start seeing it, but don't worry, with the next session the difference will appear.
